Comments:Electric City is San Francisco's longest running queer television show...13 years of production! "Best Queer Cable Show" (2 consecutive years - SF Bay Guardian) 1996 Cable Access Award for "Special Programming" Electric City began production in 1984, tackling dramatic issues and embracing events in the queer community. Unlike mainstream media formats, Electric City develops an editing formula that activates the mind. Our unique style presents history as it happens, rather than interpret views, reinvent ideas, or censor our images. Electric City's format keeps a margin for free thought within each new show. As an award-winning show (Cable Access Award - "Best Special Programming 1996"), we are proud to announce: membership in the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; Lesbian & Gay Press Association; and Actors' Equity Association. We've sent footage world-wide; to the BBC in England, Australia, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil. Electric City Network was the curator of the 90 minute program "Red Hot & Bruised" for the 19th San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, and the Berlin Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. Writers, performers, activists, musicians, singers, Drag and Leather from all genders and colors appear frequently on Electric City. Street fairs, parties, and marches of all kinds are covered weekly. We are irreverent, funny, poignant, sexy and always truthful. Welcome to community television - Electric City Network! Electric City has surpassed the pressures of HIV and AIDS through the power of the community and the control of our true image. It is with pride we remember countless talents who built Electric City; and who will never be portrayed as victims!
